Jacob is scattered throughout the Gonzaga record book, most notably for pitching the Zags' most recent no-hitter on April 16, 2021 at Pepperdine...later that season, the righthander righty blanked the LSU Tigers in the opening game of the Eugene Regional, notching his fourth career complete game and second career shutout as a Zag.

Made a total of seven appearances for SD across two stints with the big league club, tossing 2.0+ IP in five of the seven outings… posted a 2.45 ERA (4 ER, 14.1 IP), 0.75 WHIP, .173 opponents’ AVG and 19-to-2 SO/BB ratio...Recalled by SD July 27 and was scoreless in three of his four app (1.42 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, .182 AVG), striking out more than half the batters he faced (13 of 25) before being optioned back to Triple-A El Paso on Aug. 8...Recalled from ELP Aug 31 for the second time in '24 and remained with the club through Sept. 28, posting a 3.24 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and .167 AVG across three outings...Posted career highs in pitches thrown in back-to-back outings after his Aug. 31 recall (48 across 3.2 IP Aug. 31 @ TB & 44 across 2.2 IP Sept. 8 vs. SF)...Allowed his first and only ML HR (solo to Curt Casali) Sept 8 vs. SF…it’s the only HR he’s allowed to the 67 big league hitters he's faced in regular season action (0.51 HR/9)...Per Statcast, relied on four pitches w/ SD: sweeper (34.1%), changeup (30.6%), 4-seam fastball (21.1%) and sweeper (14.2%)...Spent the majority of the season with ELP, where his 42 appearances were fifth-most out of the Chihuahuas pen... posted a 5.53 ERA and .294 opponents' AVG in the hitter friendly Pacific Coast League, striking out 65 while walking 31 along with a 10.9 SO/9 IP ratio. POSTSEASON: Added to the Padres NLDS roster vs. LAD after not being included in the Wild Card round vs. ATL... made two appearances in the NLDS, with his Postseason debut coming in G2 @ Dodger Stadium, finishing off SD's 10-2 victory...allowed 1 hit (solo HR to Max Muncy) while also striking out Gavin Lux…allowed two unearned runs on no hits and 1 hit batter in SD's 8-0 defeat in G4 at Petco Park.

Had his contract selected from San Antonio (AA) on July 7 and made three hitless, scoreless relief outings from July 15-20 before being placed on the 15-day IL on July 22 (right elbow inflammation)…was transferred to the 60-Day IL on Sept. 8. Made his ML debut in the fifth inning of Game 2 of the July 15 doubleheader @ PHI, striking out the one hitter he faced (Alec Bohm)…he was the fourth Padre and third SD pitcher to make their ML debut in ‘23, joining Matt Waldron, Tom Cosgrove and Brett Sullivan. On July 18 @ TOR, he struck out three of the seven batters he faced across 2.0 scoreless IP to finish off SD's 9-1 win. Retired both of his two BF on July 20 @ TOR, including a strikeout of George Springer…retired nine of his 10 batters faced before landing on the IL, with the only baserunner reached being via a walk (Cavan Biggio on July 18). Per Statcast, relied on four pitches w/ SD: sweeper (38.3%), sinker (29.8%), 4-seam fastball (19.1%) and changeup (12.8%). Was scoreless in 14 of his 18 appearances for the Missions, converting all five of his SVO with a 1-1 record, 1.32 ERA (4 ER, 27.1 IP), a .192 opp. AVG and 10.5 SO/9 IP ratio. Posted a 19.2 scoreless-inning streak across his 11 appearances from May 10 to June 21, converting all four of his SVO and a .197 opp. AVG during the streak. Limited Double-A right-handed hitters to a .143 AVG while lefties hit .256.

Went 5-1 with 4 saves and a 2.68 ERA (17 ER, 57.0 IP) across 43 appearances (1 start) between 3 levels of the Padres minor league system (Single-A Fort Wayne, Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso)...Made four scoreless appearances (9.0 IP) with Fort Wayne to begin the campaign, earning the winning decision in 3 of the 4 outings while posting a 16-to-0 strikeout-to-walk ratio...Promoted to San Antonio on April 25…allowed runs in 3 of his first 4 Double-A appearances before posting a 20.1 consecutive scoreless-inning streak from May 12-July 5...The Missions were 13-4 in his 17 appearances, and he converted both of his 2 save opportunities with a 1.40 ERA (4 ER, 25.2 IP), .213 opponents’ AVG and 11.2 SO/9 IP ratio...Promoted to El Paso on July 7 and allowed just 1 hit and was scoreless across his first 5 career Triple-A outings… including his Double-A scoreless-inning streak, he posted a combined 24.1 consecutive scoreless innings across 18 outings from May 12-July 22…during the scoreless stretch, he limited the opposition to a .131 opponents’ AVG and 10.4 SO/9 IP ratio...Allowed runs in 7 of his next Triple-A outings from July 24- Aug. 28, posting a 9.31 ERA (10 ER, 9.2 IP) with a .386 AVG against...Assigned back to San Antonio on Aug. 30 and was scoreless in 4 of his 6 September outings (3.12 ERA) to close out his campaign...Following the season, made 9 relief appearances for Peoria in the Arizona Fall League, going 1-0 with a 3.55 ERA (5 ER, 12.2 IP), posting a 17-to-5 SO/BB ratiowhile allowing just one HR.
