High School...Began his collegiate career at the University of New Mexico before transferring to San Joaquin Delta College, where he won Rawlings/ABCA Pacific Association Division National Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore (14-0, 2.38, 102ip, 139k)...Later attended the University of Houston, where he was named All-American Athletic Conference First Team as a senior in 2021 (6-6, 2.63, 85.2ip, 105k)...His father, Jim, was a pitcher drafted by Milwaukee (1984) and San Francisco (1986) but did not sign due to injury...Enjoys fishing and golf.

2024

Entered the season as the sixth-best prospect in the organization according to Baseball America...Began the season at Triple-A Nashville, where he went 0-1 with a 5.25 ERA in three starts before he was selected by Milwaukee on 5/10...Went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA in five starts with Milwaukee...The team went 5-0 in his starts...produced two quality starts...Made his Major League debut on 5/10 vs. St. Louis and earned an 11-2 win (6ip, 2h, 0r, 0bb, 4k, 1hbp)…his first career strikeout was Lars Nootbaar…became the first pitcher in franchise history to throw at least 6.0 innings without allowing a run or a walk in a Major League debut...Issued just a single walk in 28.0 innings with Milwaukee, which came in his second start (5/15 vs. Pittsburgh - Jared Triolo)…Became the first pitcher in franchise history to win each of his first two appearances in the Major Leagues...Notched a career-high seven strikeouts over 6.0 shutout innings on 5/27 vs. Chicago-NL...Was placed on the 15-day injured list on 6/5 with a left flexor strain, retroactive to 6/2...Underwent “Tommy John” surgery on 6/24, performed by Dr. Keith Meister...was transferred to the 60-day IL the next day.

Last season was named International League Pitcher of the Year and Brewers Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Year as he went 9-1 with a 3.79 ERA in 26 games (25 starts) at Triple-A Nashville...was an International League All-Star...Led all of Triple-A Baseball and ranked second among Brewers Minor League pitchers in strikeouts (166) last season...Last season was named Brewers Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Month for June (4gs, 2-0, 2.84era, 25.1ip, 27k) and Brewers Minor League Pitcher of the Month for August (4gs, 4-0, 2.63era, 24ip, 33k)...Entered the 2023 season as the 10th-best prospect in the organization according to Baseball America.

2022

Last season went 7-12 with a 3.94 ERA in 27 starts between Class-A Fort Wayne (SD-18gs), Double-A Biloxi (MIL-4gs) and Triple-A Nashville (MIL-5gs)...as traded by San Diego to Milwaukee on 8/1/22 as part of the deal for LHP Josh Hader.....at the time of the trade was the ninth-best prospect in the Padres organization according to Baseball America...His 172 strikeouts over just 137.0 innings pitched ranked fifth in all of Minor League Baseball...Was Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for 6/13-6/19, 2022, going 2-0 without allowing a run in two starts (12ip, 4h, 3bb, 12k).

Went 0-0 with a 1.20 ERA in 6 starts between the Rookie ACL Padres (1gs) and Class-A Lake Elsinore (5gs) during his first professional season in 2021.
