Finished his third season with the Marlins going 10-10 with a 3.63 ERA (72 ER/178.2 IP) in a career-high 32 starts, also setting career highs in innings pitched, strikeouts (208), wins (10) and quality starts (17). His 208 strikeouts marked the most by a left-handed starter in Marlins history, surpassing the previous record held by Al Leiter (200, 1996). Finished with 13 starts of eight plus strikeouts; ranked third among NL pitchers this season. Held a team season-high and career-high 26.1 scoreless innings streak from June 18 to July 9. Marked the third-most strikeouts by any Marlins starter in a single season, and the ninth 200-strikeout season in club history. Left-handed batters hit .215 (32x149) vs. Luzardo in 2023 with three home runs and a .600 OPS, while right-handed batters hit .246 (130x528) with 19 home runs and a .745 OPS. In his final regular season start of the season on Sept. 28 vs. NYM, tossed a career-high 7.1 innings with 10 strikeouts. Marked his seventh double-digit strikeout outing and third of the season (also, July 23 vs. COL - 13, April 5 vs. MIN - 10). Struck out a career-high 13 batters on July 23 vs. Colorado, matching the most strikeouts by a Marlins left-hander in franchise history (LHP Braxton Garrett on June 6, 2022). 17 of his 32 starts were quality starts, the most among Marlins starters and fifth-most among left-handed pitchers in all of MLB. With a career-high 10 wins, became the first left-handed Marlins pitcher to record at least 10 wins in a season since LHP Caleb Smith went 10-11 in 2019. Owned a streak of 17 consecutive starts with five-plus strikeouts from Sept. 16, 2022 to June 6, 2023 before striking out just three batters at SEA on June 12. Made his 2023 debut on March 31 vs. NYM. Earned the first Marlins win of the season (2-1), tossing a scoreless 5.2 innings on two hits with four walks and five strikeouts.

Made 12 starts with the Marlins in 2021 after being acquired from Oakland at the trade deadline in exchange for OF Starling Marte... Finished the season with just three starts on the road for the Marlins (Aug. 7 at Colorado, Sept. 14 at Washington and Sept. 26 at Tampa Bay). Went 4-2 with a 5.68 ERA at loanDepot park and 0-3 with a 9.00 ERA on the road... Pitched 5.2 innings or more in three starts and allowed no more than three runs before from Aug. 29-Sept. 9. He was 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA in those games... Opened the year with Oakland before being acquired on July 28. Went 2-4 with a 6.87 ERA in 13 games (6 starts) with the A’s. Also made eight starts with Triple-A Las Vegas, going 2-2 with a 6.52 ERA (29.0 IP/21 ER). Made his Marlins debut Aug. 2 at loanDepot park, starting and earning the win against the Mets, limiting New York to three runs in 5.0 innings... Struck out a career-high 11 in 5.1 innings in his final start of the season against Philadelphia on Oct. 2. Allowed one run on six hits to pick up his 4th win with the Marlins.
