Finished his second season with the Marlins with a 2-3 record and a 5.48 ERA (43 ER/70.2 IP) in 33 appearances (seven starts). Struck out a career-high 53 batters. Went 0-2 with a 6.59 ERA (21 ER/28.2 IP) in seven starts, allowing 12 walks with 19 strikeouts. Held batters to a .259 AVG (29-for-112). Made 26 relief appearances, going 2-1 with a 4.71 ERA (22 ER/42.0 IP) with 34 strikeouts. Held batters to a .259 AVG (42x162). Left-handed batters went 31-for-106 (.292) against Hoeing with a .980 OPS, while right-handed batters hit .238 (40-for-168) with a .728 OPS. Matched his career high in strikeouts with five on Aug. 27 vs. WSH. Recorded the win, tossing 4.0 innings, and allowing one run on four hits and one walk. Was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on July 29 and recalled on Aug. 14. During span, made one relief appearance and one start for JAX, going 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA (4 ER/13.1 IP) with two walks and 17 strikeouts. Held batters to a .200 AVG (10-for-50). Pitched 5.0 scoreless and hitless innings vs. PIT on June 24, allowing three walks and striking out two batters in a 4-3 Marlins win. Matched his career high in innings pitched set on April 30 vs. CHC in his first start of the year. Had a career-high 9.0-inning scoreless streak from June 19-24. During stretch, held opponents to a .103 AVG (3-for-29) with three walks and seven strikeouts. Struck out a career-high five batters on June 19 vs. TOR to help the Marlins secure an 11-0 shutout win. Allowed three hits over 4.0 scoreless innings. Made his season debut on April 25 at ATL in a relief appearance. Threw 3.2 innings and allowed four runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Began the season with Triple-A Jacksonville, making three starts (four appearances) and owned a 2.08 ERA (4 ER/17.1 IP) with two walks and 20 strikeouts. Had contract selected by the Marlins on April 25.

Bryan Hoeing, ranked by MLBPipeline as Miami’s No. 30 prospect, made eight appearances (one start) with Miami in 2022 after making his Major League debut and first career start on Aug. 20 at Los Angeles-NL. Allowed seven runs on eight hits in 3.0 innings... Recorded his first career win on Sept. 12 (G2 of DH) vs. Texas... Allowed 17 earned runs in 12.2 innings (12.08 ERA) with five walks and six strikeouts across three stints in the Majors... In 22 Minor League appearances (21 starts) between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Jacksonville, combined to go 9-6 with a 4.06 ERA (119.2 IP/54 ER) with 39 walks and 75 strikeouts... Started the year with Pensacola, allowing one run in his first four starts. Went 7.0 innings twice in that span (7.1 IP on April 17 and 7.0 IP on May 1). Was promoted to Triple-A and made his first start there on May 7.
