In his first season in pro baseball, Kyle advanced from Boise to Kane County to Daytona, hitting over .300 at each stop and picking up three Player of the Week honors ... finished third in the Cubs farm system with 18 homers despite not making his season debut until June 13 ... Began his pro career with Boise where in five games he batted .600 with four home runs, earning him Northwest League Player of the Week honors and a promotion to Single-A Kane County ... Batted .361 (30-for-83) with eight doubles, four home runs and 15 RBI in 23 games with Kane County ... hit safely in 18 of the 23 games ... Earned Player of the Week honors for the week of June 23-29 (.409, 8 R, 3 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI) ... went 4-for-5 with two homers, three runs scored and five RBI on June 28 at Beloit ...
