runner-up in 2009.... As a volleyball player, Oaks was named the league's MVP during his senior season... Spent his freshman year of college with Biola University, striking out 96 batters in 95.2 innings. ... Transferred to California Baptist as a sophomore and was the ace of the Lancers pitching staff in 2014.... Was named one of eight finalists for the Brett Tomko award, which is given to the best Division II pitcher...also named a Division II All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, Daktronics and the American Baseball Coaches Association.... Posted a 1.68 ERA, the second-best ERA in the school's single-season history...his 11 wins were third-most in school history for a single season.... Tabbed as the Pitcher of the Year in the NCBWA and ABCA Division II West Regions and in the PacWest while also being named the conference Newcomer of the Year.... Was drafted in the seventh-round by the Dodgers in 2014, becoming the highest drafted player out of California Baptist in program history.

Suffered a hip injury during Spring Training with the Royals and missed the entire season due to hip surgery... Appeared in seven games with Surprise during the Arizona Fall League... Claimed off waivers by San Francisco on November 5.

Made his big league debut on April 28 vs. the White Sox and pitched in four games (2 starts) over three stints with the Royals...Tossed 3.0 scoreless innings in a relief appearance on June 5 in a 1-0 Royals loss at Angel Stadium...Went 8-8 with a 3.23 ERA (46 ER in 128.1 IP) in 22 starts at Omaha (AAA)…led the Pacific Coast League in ERA...Named a PCL midseason All-Star...pitched a scoreless second inning at the Triple-A All-Star Game in Columbus, Ohio, working around a single and a walk...Posted a 6-3 mark with a 1.84 ERA (17 ER in 83.0 IP) with a .221 opponents' average (66-for-299) over his first 14 starts (through July 14)…went 2-5 with a 5.76 ERA (29 ER in 45.1 IP) from July 19 to the end of the season.

Spent a majority of the year with Oklahoma City (AAA), in the Los Angeles Dodgers' minor league system…went 4-3 with a 3.64 ERA (34 ER in 84.0 IP) in 16 appearances and 15 starts ... Missed the final two months of the season with an oblique injury…placed on the disabled list on July 5 and wasn't activated until Sept. 20…made rehab starts for Ogden (Rookie) and the AZL Dodgers (Rookie) ... Tabbed PCL Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 4, after tossing 7.0 shutout innings in an 11-1 win at New Orleans on May 29…allowed two hits and no walks to go with a season-high seven strikeouts…also hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning ... Went 3-0 with a 2.43 ERA (9 ER in 33.1 IP) in his home starts ... Added to the Dodgers' 40-man roster on Nov. 20 ... Tabbed the 14th-best prospect in the Dodgers' minor league system following the season, according to MLB.com.

Had a breakout 2016 campaign, pitching at three different levels in the Dodgers' organization…combined to go 14-3 with a 2.74 ERA (46 ER in 151.0 IP) combined between Oklahoma City, Tulsa (AA) and Rancho Cucamonga (A) ... His 14 victories in 2016 were second-most among Dodgers' minor leaguers ... Selected as a Texas League (AA) All-Star in 2016, posting an 8-1 record and a 2.14 ERA (15 ER in 63.0 IP) with Tulsa…led the league in wins and tied for the lead in innings pitched at the time of his promotion on June 21 ...
