TEXAS: Was 4-for-24 (.167) over his first 10 games, but then batted .253/.309/.484/.793 over his next 56 contests as he became the club's everyday shortstop from April 13-June 17 with Elvis Andrus on the disabled list…had his first career two-homer game and also drove in a career-high five runs June 6 vs. Oakland…was hit by a pitch three times twice in a 15-day span on June 9 vs. Houston and June 20 at Minnesota to set the Rangers single-game club record and tie the single-game Major League record…according to baseball-reference.com, the only other player since 1908 with multiple games of three or more hit by pitches in a season was Reed Johnson for 2006 Blue Jays (also two games)…hit .281/.380/.472/.853 over a 56-game stretch from June 18 to Sept. 2 to raise his average to a season-high .260…capped that stretch by going 4-for-5 with two doubles and a home run Sept. 2 vs. Minnesota…the hits and three extra base hits were career highs and he matched his best with three runs scored…then hit .221 over his final 24 games…hit six home runs in September, which tied for 10th in the AL and was the most in any month in his career

Was a member of the Rangers' Opening Day roster and had 3 stints with Texas (Opening Day-4/29, 6/9-15, 7/5-7)…batted .172/.294/.207/.501 in 22 G after going 5-for-10 in last 3 G with Rangers…final game was 7/7 vs. LAA…lowest SLG of any nonpitcher/catcher in MLB last season (min. 70 PA's)…spent balance of season with Round Rock (AAA), batting .287/.383/.428/.811 (94-327) in 87 G while playing almost exclusively at shortstop…his 11.61 PA/SO ratio was 4th-best in PCL…team-high 25 doubles, and had more BB (43) than SO (33)…from 6/1-end of season at Triple-A, batted .298 (65-218) in final 59 G…batted .386 (34-88) against left-handed pitching…had a pair of 4-RBI games: 5/22 vs. Salt Lake and 7/29 vs. El Paso…played for Team Netherlands in 2017 World Baseball Classic, and was not selected to All-Tournament Team despite batting .464 (13-28) with a 1.266 OPS.

Profar returned to the majors for the 1st time since 2013 and batted .239 (65-272) in a career-high 90 games with the Rangers…was one of just 2 major league players to start at least 5 games at 5 different positions, along with HOU's Marwin Gonzalez…had starts in 8 of 9 spots in the batting order

Profar spent the entire 2015 season on the 60-day disabled list following right shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum on Feb. 23, 2015 performed by Rangers Team Physician Dr. Keith Meister at the Medical Center of Arlington… officially placed on 60-day DL the following day…spent the year rehabbing and then combined to hit .256 (11-43) on a 12-game injury rehabilitation assignment with Hickory (Class A) and Frisco (Class AA) in August and September, appearing exclusively as the DH…hit safely in 9 of 12 games…was with Hickory from Aug. 27-Sept. 4, batting .273 (9-33) with a HR and 5 RBI…played 3 G with Frisco from Sept. 5-7, going 2-for-10 with a 2B and RBI…had a .267 (20-91) average with 2 HR and 20 RBI over 20 G for Surprise in the Arizona Fall League from Oct. 22-Nov. 10…his 20 RBI ranked third in the circuit… also led AFL with four sac flies and ranked second with 9.10 PA/SO.
2014
Was on the Texas disabled list the entire season with a torn teres major muscle in his right shoulder...issues with his shoulder began during a spring weightlifting session, then he suffered the original torn muscle during a spring training game on 3/21 vs. MIL in Surprise...after resting the injury for several weeks, he began to bat in extended spring training games in Arizona, but reinjured the shoulder in late May and was shut down for another extended period...a late-season plan to play in the Arizona Fall League was scrapped when issues with the muscle continued, leading to September visits with sports medicine specialists Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache...his last regular season game was with Texas on 9/27/13 vs. LAA.
2013
Started last season in Round Rock, but was recalled from Triple-A on May 19 when Ian Kinsler went on the disabled list…subbed as the club's regular second baseman for a month while Ian Kinsler was on the disabled list before finishing the season in a utility role…had starts at second base, shortstop, third base, left field and as designated hitter… batted .234 (67-286) in his rookie campaign with a .308 on-base pct. and .336 slugging mark…ranked among A.L. rookie leaders in walks (5th, 26) and on-base pct. (8th, .308)…was 3rd on club with 6 sac bunts…started in 6 different spots in the batting order (1-2-6-7-8-9) … 2-for-6 in steal attempts…after the season, hit .284 (25-88) with one HR and 5 RBI in 25 games with Licey in Dominican Winter League, drawing 24 walks against 10 strikeouts.
2012
Spent the bulk of the season with Frisco (AA), but was
called up to Texas for the season's final month...saw limited
playing time with Texas in September, but made enough of an
impression to land on the club's postseason roster and appear in
the A.L. Wild Card Game...was named the top hitting prospect in
all of baseball by Baseball America in the publication's mid-season prospect rankings...batted .158 (6-38) with one double, one
home run, 4 RBI, and 8 runs scored in 15 games with Licey in
the Dominican Winter League before his season was cut short
by right forearm soreness.
TEXAS: Had contract purchased from Double-A Frisco on
August 31 and joined the club the following day in Cleveland...
batted .176 (3-17) with 2 runs, a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 RBI
in 9 games...each of his 3 career hits in the regular season have
gone for extra bases...had 4 total starts, 2 each at second and
shortstop...had no errors in 11 total chances...struck out in only
pinch appearance...debuted on Sept. 2 at Cleveland with start
at second base, a late addition to the lineup after Ian Kinsler
was scratched with lower back stiffness...went 2-for-4 with a HR
and double in his ML debut that day (see below)...struck out as
pinch-hitter on Sept. 7 at TB, but in 2nd career start (3rd game)
on Sept. 8 at TB, went 1-for-4 with a tie-breaking RBI double
in the 10th inning of Rangers' 4-2 victory...according to baseball-reference.com, he was the only teenager since at least 1918
to have multiple games with both an extra-base hit and RBI in his
first 3 career contests...was 3-for-9 in his first 3 games/2 starts,
but went 0-for-8 in final 6 contests/2 starts.
DANDY DEBUT: Homered in his first career plate appearance
(4th pitch) against Indians starter Zach McAllister on Sept. 2 at
CLE...was just the 3rd teenager to hit a HR in his first career
major league (since 1876) at-bat, the 2nd-youngest to do it, and
youngest in the A.L...was first Rangers player to homer in his
first career AB, 3rd in Washington/Texas franchise history: last
Brant Alyea for Washington vs. California on 9/12/65 at D.C.
Stadium (later RFK)...with a double in his next at-bat became
first teenager with 2 extra-base hits in his first ML game since
White Sox' Johnny Callison on 9/9/58 vs. BOS at old Comiskey
Park...was the youngest player to hit a home run and a double
in a game since fellow Curaçao native and former Ranger Andruw Jones (19.126) on Aug. 27, 1996 for Braves at Pittsburgh's
Three Rivers Stadium...Profar was the first teenage switch-hitter
to homer in the majors since the Cardinals' Dick Schofield on
Aug. 26, 1953 at New York-NL (18.231)...the previous teenage
switch-hitter to homer in the A.L.: Mickey Mantle on Sept. 19,

CAN'T FIGHT THE YOUTH: Was the first player born in 1993
ever to appear in the majors (19 years, 195 days old) and the
