2006
Perez was the A's backup infielder the entire season and never got on track offensively, hitting .102 in 57 games. His batting average was the lowest in Oakland history based on a minimum of 100 plate appearances. It was the third lowest batting average by a non-pitcher since 1900 with 100 minimum plate appearances. Seven of his 10 hits were for extra-bases and he had eight RBIs on the season. He started 24 games, including 20 at third base, three at shortstop and one at second base. His only homer was a two-run shot off Randy Johnson at Yankee Stadium.
2005
Made the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career and led all Dodger hitters with a .297 batting average (minimum 200 at bats)...tied for the team lead with 11 stolen bases, marking the lowest team-leading total in Los Angeles history, surpassing Kirk Gibson's team-leading 12 swipes in 1989...his 11-game hitting streak from June 8-22 was the Dodgers longest of the season...made 33 starts at third base, 21 starts at second base and eight starts at shortstop...hit .312 (24 for 77) vs. left-handed pitchers and .316 (43 for 136) on the road...batted .306 (22 for 72) in day games...hit .321 (17 for 53) with runners in scoring position...had a .337 average (32 for 95) with runners on base...had 13 two-hit games, four three-hit games and one four-hit game...had three two-RBI games, two three-RBI games and one five-RBI game...reached base in 28 of his 62 plate appearances to lead off an inning for a .452 on-base percentage...batted in all nine spots in the batting order, with his best production coming from the number seven spot (10 for 23, 1 HR, 6 RBI)...hit .291 (53 for 182) vs. right-handers and .375 (3 for 8) with eight RBI with the bases loaded...made his first start of season on April 8 at Arizona and went 2 for 4 but injured his left hamstring in the game and was placed on the Disabled List on April 9...went on a rehabilitation assignment to Triple-A Las Vegas on April 28, where he batted .232 (13 for 56) with eight runs scored, three doubles, two homers and six RBI in 16 games...upon being activated from the DL, he batted .415 (22 for 53) in his first 17 games back, including a period of four consecutive multi-hit games and five in six games from May 24 to 29...during the week of May 23 to 29, he led the National League in batting average (.619) and on-base percentage (.667)...on May 21 vs. Los Angeles (AL), he made his fourth career start at third base and his first since July 25, 2003 at Chicago while playing for Tampa Bay...went 2 for 4 with an RBI in the game...had a career-high four hits and hit his first homer as a Dodger on May 26 at San Francisco...the homer was his third career blast and first since July 24, 2003 while playing for Tampa Bay...made his big league outfield debut on June 2 vs. Milwaukee, appearing in left field in the ninth inning...batted leadoff on June 12 vs. Minnesota, the first time he has been atop the lineup in his career...hit a three-run homer on June 29 vs. San Diego which proved to be the difference in the Dodgers' 4-2 victory...it marked his second three-RBI game of the season...tied his career high with five RBI on July 6 at Colorado, going 3-for-5 with a homer...on August 14 vs. New York, he broke up Pedro Martinez's no-hit bid with one out in the eighth inning by tripling off the wall in left-center field...the hit came on Martinez's 86th pitch and the next batter, Jayson Werth, hit a two-run homer to give the Dodgers a 2-1 victory...played 55 innings at second base, 19 innings at shortstop and 30 innings at third base in Spring Training...batted .286 (16 for 56) in the spring.
2004
Was acquired on April 3 in exchange for outfielder Jason Romano...recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sept. 7, where he batted .296 with 22 homers, 88 RBI and 22 stolen bases in 125 games...became the first 20/20 player in Las Vegas' franchise history and the first Dodger farmhand to steal 20 bases and hit 20 homers in a season since Chin-Feng Chen hit 31 homers and stole 31 bases for Single-A San Bernardino in 1999...played second base and shortstop for Las Vegas...the stint with the Dodgers was his second trip to the Major Leagues, as he appeared in 43 games with Tampa Bay in 2003...went 3-for-13 with five runs scored for the Dodgers including a double...made his Dodger debut on Sept. 7 vs. Arizona and singled to center... was hit by pitch and scored a run on Sept. 11 vs. St. Louis...doubled and scored two runs on Sept. 13 vs. San Diego...batted .255 (12-for-47) for the Gigantes during the Dominican Winter League.
2003
Split the season between Double-A Orlando, Triple-A Durham and Tampa Bay...was one of 10 Rays to make his Major League debut in 2003...had not played above Double-A before 2003...was up with the big club from May 9-15 and June 25 through season's end...appeared in just two games during his first stint...made his Major League debut on May 14 at Toronto as a pinch-runner...made his first big league start the next night at SkyDome at second base and went 1 for 3, collecting his first big league hit, an infield single off Doug Davis...began his second tour starting 33 of the club's 53 games through August 23...started just four of the final 34 games...started 30 games at second base, five at shortstop and three at third base...his games at third were his first as a pro...began his career with a nine-game hitting streak which was snapped at Seattle on July 13...was only the eighth Major Leaguer since 1990 to begin his career with a hitting streak of nine or more games...hit his first Major League home run on July 12 at Seattle off Gil Meche...had four three-hit games on the year...his first three-hit game was on July 8 at Oakland off Barry Zito...also had three hits on July 20 vs.Texas, July 24 at Boston and July 29 at Toronto...in that Boston game, had a career-high five RBI, tying the Rays' club rook- ie record for RBI in a game...hit .319 in July (22 for 69), third best among AL rookies behind Cleveland's Coco Crisp (.351) and Kansas City's Angel Berroa (.323)...followed that up with a 5 for 42 (.119) stretch to close out the season...hit .320 (8 for 25) with runners in scor- ing position...batted a combined .279 (60 for 215) at Orlando and Durham with 17 doubles, three triples, eight homers and 30 RBI...began the season at Orlando and hit .272 with two homers and 10 RBI in 24 games before being promoted to Triple-A on May 22...batted .284 for the Bulls in 34 games with six homers and 20 RBI...was selected to play in the Future's Game All-Star week at US Cellular Field...was replaced by Pete Laforest after he was recalled by the Rays...played and homered in the Hall of Fame Game on June 16 at Cooperstown between Tampa Bay and Philadelphia.
2002
Spent the season with Double-A San Antonio where he batted .258 with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs and 24 RBI in 72 games...appeared in 64 games at second base and 10 at shortstop...was on the disabled list from May 3 to July 4 with a bruised right wrist...played in six rehabilitation games for the Rookie Mariners of the Arizona Rookie League...had his best stretch when he returned from the DL, batting .322 in July (29 for 90) with 11 RBI and eight stolen bases for San Antonio, hitting safely in 19 of 25 games...named the Rays' eighth-best prospect by Baseball Americaand the fifth-best position player.
2001
Played in just five games (June 1 through 5) with Double-A San Antonio, battling a fractured right wrist...was on the disabled list from April 5 to May 31 and June 6 through the season's end.
2000
