Acquired by the Royals from the Cubs on May 31 for minor league INF Gookie Dawkins and a player to be named later. Signed a minor league contract with the Cubs on April 1, 2004...called up to the big-league club on May 6 when SS Alex Gonzalez was placed on the disabled list with a broken right wrist...appeared in seven games for the Cubs, recording one hit (a home run) in 15 at-bats.
