He, his wife Nicole and two children Joseph, Jr. (3/12/97) and Jayden (4/20/00) reside in Lithia, FL during the off-season...Selected by the Chicago White Sox in the fifth round of the June 1988 draft, but he did not sign...Attended Pasadena Community College...Appeared in 10 games with Mesa in the Arizona Fall League following the 1994 season, posting a 1-1 record and 3.29 ERA.

Limited to 22 appearances with the Washington Nationals due to a left rotator cuff tear...Compiled a 1.80 ERA (10.0IP/2ER) over a 16-outing stretch April 14-May 26...Landed on the 60-day disabled list on May 31.
2005
Spent 41 games on the disabled list because of a broken right radius. ... Managed to make 57 appearances. Had a 2.57 ERA after the All-Star Break.
2004
Missed the first four months of the 2004 season with the Montreal Expos after undergoing surgery on March 18 to remove bone chips and shave bone spurs in his left elbow, a procedure performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL...Posted a 2.92 ERA (12.1IP/4ER) in 10 outings during August.

Appeared in a career-high 70 games with the Expos during the 2003 season...Compiled a 1.23 ERA (22.0IP/3ER) over his first 30 outings of the season April 2-June 3, including a 0.79 ERA (11.1IP1/ER) in 15 games during April.
2002
Second among all National League relievers with a 1.34 ERA for the Expos in 2002, while he tied for seventh with six wins...Joined Montreal's bullpen after having his contract purchased from Triple A Ottawa on May 3...Did not allow a run in 14 straight outings June 7-July 5, tossing 13.1 innings...Posted a career-high six-game winning streak June 20- September 27...Held the opposition scoreless in 16 consecutive outings August 1-September 10, tossing 14.2 innings...Earned his first major league save on August 23 at San Francisco, recording the final four outs of the contest...Equaled a career high with five strikeouts on September 29 versus Cincinnati.
2001
Provided a solid batch of relief work, bouncing up and down between the Expos and AAA-Ottawa...Was one of the Lynx' top relievers in Triple-A, while offering the Expos a tough lefthanded option out of the bullpen... Made his return to the majors when his contract was selected from AAA-Ottawa May 11... When he faced the Rockies at Coors Field on May 11, was his first big league appearance since playing in one game with the Reds in 1997... Was 2-3, 2.24 ERA (13 ER-52.1 IP) in 34 games with the Lynx prior to the promotion... Made one appearance with the Expos before being designated for assignment May 15 and outrighted to AAA-Ottawa May 18...Returned to Montreal July 19... Would remain with the parent club for the duration of the season.

Eischen rejoined the Adirondacks Lumberjacks in 2000 after being released by Cleveland in the spring...Was signed by the Expos to a minor league contract in late summer from Adirondack, where he was 7-1 with a 1.80 ERA in 65 innings pitched in10 starts, and assigned to AAA-Ottawa...Had pitched for the Lynx in 1993 and 1994...Was dominating the Northern League in the middle of June posting a six-game winning streak started on Opening Night May 26 through June 24.
1999
Was released by Cincinnati in spring training, signed with Arizona and was sent to Tuscon (AAA), where he went 1-3 with a 4.09 ERA in 27 games before being released on July 1...Went to Adirondack (IND) for the remainder of the season...

Spent the entire season with Indianapolis (AAA), going 2-5 with a 4.54 ERA in 61 games with the Indians...
