When five-year-old Rowan Linder, a big-time baseball fan battling cancer, stepped off his school bus in Langhorne, Pa. on Thursday, September 7, he was greeted with the surprise of a lifetime.

While Rowan and his nine-year-old sister Aubrey were away at school, they had no idea that their parents Kristen and Gary, along with nearly two dozen Phillies front office employees, turned his bedroom into the ultimate Phillies-themed room!

The Phillie Phanatic, a Phillies Ballgirl, and Phillies Ambassador Scott Palmer greeted Rowan and Aubrey as they got off their bus and personally escorted them to Rowan’s new Phillies-themed bedroom, decorated with red pinstripes, a giant Bryce Harper banner, baseball photo cards, a Phillies cap wall, and more!

This epic surprise was in partnership with the J Foundation, which provides assistance to families with terminally ill children. The event was held in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Rowan and his family will be attending the game on Saturday, September 9, when the Phillies hold Childhood Cancer Awareness Night presented by Nemours Children’s Health.
