It was a rally-towel waving moment on the final day of the Phillies Winter Tour!
Clara Barton Elementary School, one of the top performing schools in the Phanatic About Reading programs presented by Xfinity, received a special visit by the Phillies on Wednesday morning, January 18. Teachers and over 300 students were treated to an interactive event featuring the Phillie Phanatic, who teamed up with Phillies manager Rob Thomson and relief pitcher Orion Kerkering to read and act out scenes from his book, The Phillie Phanatic’s Hero.
Phanatic About Reading is a free, incentive-based program that encourages students in grades Pre-K through 8 to read or be read to for a minimum of 15 minutes a day to improve their literacy skills. More than 146,000 students participate in the program.
