Eric Kutsenda
Chairman
Eric Kutsenda is the Chairman and interim control person of the San Diego Padres. He was appointed to his current position with the Padres in November 2023 following the passing of former Chairman and owner Peter Seidler.
Eric is also a co-founder and Managing Partner of Seidler Equity Partners (“SEP”), a private equity firm that provides capital and management support to entrepreneurial companies across the United States and Australia. The firm manages more than $5 billion of equity capital. Kutsenda is actively involved in establishing and overseeing the implementation of the firm’s strategic vision, promoting its core investment principles, and supervising the support of its portfolio companies. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.
Kutsenda began his professional career at KPMG LLP, where he focused on providing tax structuring advice and due diligence support for mergers and acquisitions. Prior to co-founding SEP, he was a principal at a Chicago-based investment firm. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Eric is involved in a variety of other organizations including Young Presidents’ Organization (past Chapter Chair) and serves on the advisory boards of several non-profit and for-profit enterprises.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Kutsenda earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Taxation from DePaul University.
