SATURDAY

3:30 p.m. ET – Mesa (BOS, CHC, LAA, OAK, TB) @ Salt River (AZ, COL, MIN, NYY, WSH)
The AFL is a hitter’s league, but Saturday’s slate is all about interesting pitching matchups. Salt River throws Yankees No. 20 prospect Carlos Lagrange, a 6-foot-7 21-year-old with a power arm who has turned heads during his first three starts this fall. He’ll be opposed by Tampa Bay left-hander Jackson Lancaster, a career reliever, in a matchup of contrasting styles. Gameday »

6:30 p.m. ET – Peoria (ATL, MIA, MIL, SD, SEA) @ Surprise (BAL, CLE, HOU, KC, TEX)
This pitching matchup might feature two of the best individual pitches in the AFL this year, in Adam Maier’s curveball and Luinder Avila’s slider. Both are high-spin offerings, though Avila (KC No. 26) has gotten better results than Maier (ATL No. 17) so far this fall. Gameday »

SUNDAY

8 p.m. ET – Glendale (CIN, CWS, LAD, PHI, STL) @ Scottsdale (DET, NYM, PIT, SF, TOR)
If Glendale finds itself with a late lead, it’s no secret who the Desert Dogs will hand the ball to: Luis Mey (Reds). The fireballing right-hander is one of the true revelations of this fall, as he’s showcased his ability to light up the radar gun while also commanding the baseball. Mey has thrown the 10 hardest pitches in the AFL this year, and the only pitches eclipsing 100 mph. It would be quite a matchup to see him line up against one of Scottsdale’s talented bats, like Briceño or Mets No. 3 prospect Drew Gilbert (No. 74 overall), with the game on the line. Gameday »

MONDAY

4:30 p.m. ET – Peoria (ATL, MIA, MIL, SD, SEA) @ Scottsdale (DET, NYM, PIT, SF, TOR)
You might not have known the name Charlie Szykowny before this fall, but the Giants infielder is emerging as a difference maker for the Scorpions alongside impact bats like Briceño, Gilbert and Jett Williams (NYM No. 2/No. 52 overall). Peoria, on the other hand, is getting contributions on both sides of the ball from guys like Luis Lara (MIL No. 17) as well as its bigger-name prospects.

4:30 p.m. ET – Surprise (BAL, CLE, HOU, KC, TEX) @ Mesa (BOS, CHC, LAA, OAK, TB)
It’s been a quiet fall so far for Surprise slugger Jac Caglianone (No. 17 overall prospect), but the Royals’ top prospect is always a candidate to break out and impress with the bat. The Saguaros lineup also features Royals prospects Carter Jensen (KC No. 5) and Daniel Vazquez (No. 23), as well as breakout infielder Max Acosta (Rangers). On the other side, Mesa has some mashers in Brooks Brannon (BOS No. 27) and Jonathan Long (Cubs).

9:30 p.m. ET – Glendale (CIN, CWS, LAD, PHI, STL) @ Salt River (AZ, COL, MIN, NYY, WSH)
Salt River has a top pitching staff in the hitter-friendly AFL. It entered the week leading the league in team ERA and opponent average, and ranking second in strikeouts and WHIP. The Rafters’ nice surprises on the pitching side include right-handers Jack Noble (Twins) and McCade Brown (Rockies), while Glendale has gotten excellent contributions on the mound from the likes of Carson Rudd (Reds) and left-hander Ixan Henderson (Cardinals).

TUESDAY

4:30 p.m. ET – Surprise (BAL, CLE, HOU, KC, TEX) @ Peoria (ATL, MIA, MIL, SD, SEA)
In addition to Surprise’s bigger-name prospects, keep an eye out for catcher Collin Price (Astros), infielder Austin Deming (Astros) and outfielder Jake Cunningham (Orioles) to make an impact offensively for the Saguaros. For Peoria, it’s been a quiet fall so far for Padres No. 2 prospect Leodalis De Vries (No. 28 overall), so look for the toolsy shorstop to break out any minute now.

9:30 p.m. ET – Scottsdale (DET, NYM, PIT, SF, TOR) @ Glendale (CIN, CWS, LAD, PHI, STL)
The Scorpions have gotten nice production from breakout players like Sammy Siani (Pirates) and Peyton Williams (Blue Jays) alongside Josue Briceño, making Scottsdale a dangerous team for any pitcher to navigate. The Desert Dogs, meanwhile, mash up and down the lineup. Lately, they’ve gotten big contributions from infielders Thomas Saggese (STL No. 4) and Sean McLain (Dodgers), especially.

9:30 p.m. ET – Salt River (AZ, COL, MIN, NYY, WSH) @ Mesa (BOS, CHC, LAA, OAK, TB)
Athletics’ No. 2 prospect Nick Kurtz (No. 45 overall) was a late addition to the Solar Sox roster, but the slugging first baseman is making up for lost time by hitting the ground running lately with Mesa. Salt River generates a lot of its offense with the help of tablesetter Caleb Durbin, who is leading the AFL in steals for the second consecutive year.
