USO San Diego's mission is to strengthen America's military by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their time in service.

USO San Diego is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization which receives no federal funding; we rely on the generosity of the community around us, to include individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations within the San Diego Region. The funds raised at USO San Diego directly support programs developed and delivered within our 4 Pillars of Service; Unites, Delivers, Entertains, and Transitions. These funds remain in the San Diego Region supporting our local Active Duty and their families.

USO San Diego has 4 locations; our Neil Ash Airport, Downtown Center, Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and our newest location at Liberty Station. With only 12 staff members, USO San Diego relies on the community around them, our volunteers provide over 52,000 hours of service annually helping to serve over 220,000 individuals.

USO San Diego continues to offer support to those who serve our nation with the same enthusiasm that it did at its opening in 1941; USO San Diego consistently delivers programming and hospitality to those who serve our country and those who stand beside them---being a great resource of strength and resilience while being a true home away from home.

Since 1981, VVSD has continued to adapt to the increasing numbers and evolving needs of our nation's heroes. Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) serves America's veterans through various programs and services. Today, more than 240,000 veterans call San Diego their home, with 15,000 transitioning from military duty to civilian life each year and approximately 5,000 who choose to stay here in San Diego.

The need to support our veterans continues to evolve and change. VVSD serves more than 2,000 veterans and their families annually through their programs that include mental health, case management, supportive services for Veterans Families, housing solutions, alcohol and drug rehabilitation, and employment and training services. In an effort to meet the ever-changing needs of our veterans and their families, VVSD continues to grow and expand its services with programs located throughout San Diego County.
