At the start of the 2022 season, Alex Ramirez wasn’t even on the Top 100 Prospects list. Now? He’s one of the most exciting prospects in the Mets’ system.

MLB’s No. 87 overall prospect had a breakout performance in High-A Brooklyn’s 10-3 win over Jersey Shore, notching his first four-hit game for the Cyclones and his fourth of the season while driving in half the team’s runs and swiping a bag.

The 19-year-old entered the night batting just .205/.255/.318 without a long ball through his first 12 games at the new level, but by game’s end, he had raised his average 60 points and his slugging percentage by over 100 points with the help of a double and his first High-A dinger.

Ramirez, who hits lefties and righties at an almost identical clip, slugged the first pitch he saw from BlueClaws southpaw Rafael Marcano over the wall in left-center for a two-out, three-run jack to give Brooklyn an early lead they would never relinquish.

The Mets' No. 4 prospect stole his 19th base of the year (second with the Cyclones) after reaching on an RBI groundout before doubling in his fifth run of the game to left field off righty Kyle Glogoski in the fifth. Ramirez singled two more times to right field to complete his day.

The five-RBI effort was the first of Ramirez’s career and his fourth game of the year driving in four or more runs.

Inked for $2.05 million out of the Dominican Republic in the 2019-20 international signing period, Ramirez’s stock has been rising quickly as he continues to impress in his sophomore season. The teenager hit .284 with an .802 OPS, six homers, six triples, 13 doubles and 37 RBIs in 67 games with Single-A St. Lucie. He was named the Florida State League Player of the Week immediately before being promoted to Brooklyn on July 4.

Ramirez had only collected five hits in his first nine games with the Cyclones, but he's erupted for eight hits in his last three games, including two multihit performances before the All-Star Break. He’s amassed 22 multihit efforts in 79 games across two levels to complement a .281/.352/.444 slash line with 31 extra-base hits and 19 steals on the year.
