Kyle Schwarber Surprised by SEI with Youth Baseball Equipment for His Hometown Little League

August 27, 2024

Slugger Kyle Schwarber is hoping to bring Little League back to his hometown in Middleton, Ohio – and employees from SEI®, a leading global provider of technology and investment solutions and Official Partner of the Philadelphia Phillies, stepped up to the plate to help him achieve that mission.

On Tuesday, August 27, while at SEI headquarters in Oaks, Pa., Kyle was surprised with more than 500 pieces of youth baseball and softball equipment, all donated by SEI employees, to aid in Schwarber’s efforts to get kids who cannot afford to play ball in the game.

Kyle, a Middleton, Ohio graduate, is spearheading the restart of the Middle Way Baseball League for students in grades kindergarten through fifth.

Equipment was also donated to the Phillies RBI leagues, with the donations part of an SEI and Phillies joint charitable fund to support player charities.

After the surprise presentation, Kyle, along with broadcaster Tom McCarthy and 1993 NL champion and 2008 World Series coach Milt Thompson, took part in a “Chalk Talk” Q&A event with SEI employees to talk about the initiative and share stories about being a major leaguer.

In addition to initiating efforts to restart the Middle Way Baseball League, Kyle and his wife, Paige, are also founders of Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, which recognizes first responders and military personnel by honoring their heroism, courage and devotion to duty.
