Ole Miss ascends to top spot in College Baseball Hall of Fame Power Poll
LUBBOCK, Texas – For the first time this season, the National College Baseball Hall of Fame Power Poll has a new leader.
Ole Miss, fresh off a strong week with wins over Oral Roberts and Alcorn State, narrowly edged Vanderbilt for the top spot in the poll for Week 4. The Rebels (13-2) beat the Commodores (13-2) by just one point and garnered one more first place vote, 3-2. Texas (13-4), which had occupied the top spot in the poll since the preseason, falls to No. 3 after going 2-3 with losses to Texas State and South Carolina.
Clemson (14-1) makes its debut in the poll at No. 20 after just missing out last week, while Louisiana Tech (11-5) jumps back into the poll at No. 25.
Purdue, the only remaining undefeated team in Division I at 14-0, made the biggest leap this week, going from No. 23 to No. 17 after a three-game sweep of Bellarmine.
Dropped out: Miami, Tulane
