Chapman exits after third inning with illness
OAKLAND -- A's rookie third baseman Matt Chapman left Thursday night's 7-2 loss to the Orioles after the third inning with an illness.
"He wasn't feeling good before the game," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "He was throwing up. Once he started doing it during the game, now you have dehydration issues that you have to deal with. So, we got him out."
Chapman struck out in his lone at-bat of the night in the second inning and had two assists in the infield.
Ryon Healy moved from first base to third base to replace Chapman, while Matt Olson entered the game in Chapman's spot in the batting order and took over at first base.
Melvin hopes Chapman will be fine for Friday's game and added, "He didn't want to come out of the game, as you would expect."
