Mets-Braves game postponed Wed.; makeup on Sept. 26

April 10th, 2024

ATLANTA -- With an afternoon game scheduled on Thursday, the Braves erased the strong possibility of waiting through a long delay on Wednesday night.

Atlanta postponed Wednesday’s game against the Mets approximately three hours before the scheduled 7:20 p.m. ET first pitch. The game will be made up on Sept. 26 beginning at 7:20 p.m.

Braves manager Brian Snitker said the teams might have waited through Wednesday’s rain if Thursday’s series finale wasn’t scheduled to begin at 12:20 p.m.

“You can look at the radar; it’s not real good,” Snitker said. “If we were playing at 7:30 [p.m. Thursday], this probably would have been a different story. You’d probably hang around. But with us playing at 12:20, it’s a different animal.”

Wednesday’s scheduled starters, Jose Quintana (Mets) and Allan Winans (Braves), will now start Thursday’s series finale. Braves starters Max Fried, Chris Sale, Charlie Morton and Reynaldo López will now each take their next turn with an extra day of rest.

All tickets from the game will be honored on the makeup date. For more information regarding tickets and parking, please visit braves.com/rainout.
