Farmstand Business Curriculum

The Mets and 1PointFive are proud to team up to support GrowNYC’s Farmstand Business Curriculum.  This program empowers school communities to take a meaningful look at our food system and examine the model GrowNYC has used for over 50 years to support food access in New York City. It allows schools to reach beyond the perimeter of their school garden and onto plates in their communities, while allowing students to learn real-world business skills.

The Farmstand Business Curriculum’s goal is to launch green career opportunities for students. Following the curriculum, students are encouraged to apply for GrowNYC's Workforce Development Program, which is a seven-week opportunity for youth ages 16-19 to gain skills in food and agriculture.

This year, the Mets and 1PointFive are partnering with the following schools for GrowNYC’s Farmstand Business Curriculum:

  • The Academy of Medical Technology
  • Health Arts Robotics and Technology High School
  • Metropolitan Expeditionary Learning School
  • The Young Women's Leadership School
