July 19: LHP reinstated from IL; designated for assignment
Speier, who landed on the 15-day injured list on June 1 (retroactive to May 30) with a rotator cuff strain, was back with the Mariners to open the second half against Houston on Friday. He made a pair of rehab appearances -- on July 12 with Triple-A Tacoma and July 15 in the Arizona Complex League -- logging a pair of scoreless innings.

Speier's return gives the Mariners a second left-hander in the bullpen, along with Tayler Saucedo.

Baumann came to Seattle on May 22 in a trade, after being designated for assignment by the Orioles. He appeared in 18 games for the Mariners, logging a 5.51 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP in 16 1/3 innings.

July 19: RHP throws second session pregame
Stanek came into the bottom of the eighth of the Mariners' first-half finale in Anaheim looking to protect a 2-0 lead but issued a four-pitch walk to the first batter he faced and came up grimacing. After talking to the trainer and manager Scott Servais, he left the game and was replaced by Austin Voth.

Afterward, Servais said Stanek was dealing with back spasms. On Friday, Servais said that Stanek took three days off before throwing for the first time on Thursday, threw again Friday and that the Mariners hope he'll be fine moving forward from there.

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

OF Dominic Canzone (right adductor strain)
Expected return: August at the earliest
Canzone sustained the injury when making a diving catch on July 7, then he attempted to play through it before the pain became pronounced enough to be pulled in their next game, on July 9 in San Diego. On July 19, Mariners manager Scott Servais said Canzone was still "recovering" and still probably a couple of weeks away from starting a rehab assignment. (Last updated: July 19)

60-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP (right elbow inflammation)
Expected return:
June 2025
Brash is out of the protective brace that he'd been wearing since undergoing Tommy John surgery on May 8 and remains in Arizona recovering. He may join the Mariners in and out in Seattle throughout the remainder of the season. Brash's surgery ended his 2024 season, three months after initially experiencing soreness during his second bullpen session in Spring Training. Brash had the ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching elbow repaired and a brace installed, which has typically allowed patients to begin physical therapy sooner. That's why the Mariners are hopeful Brash can return in 12 months, potentially as soon as June 2025. (Last updated: June 12)

OF/UTL (torn right Achilles)
Expected return: May 2025
Haggerty tore his right Achilles on May 18, in his second game after getting optioned back to Triple-A Tacoma, and he underwent surgery with Dr. Albert O. Gee at the University of Washington the following week. He then departed for Arizona shortly after to transition his recovery there. Before leaving Seattle, Haggerty mentioned in passing that his timeline would be around 12 months if all goes well with his subsequent rehab. (Last updated: June 12)

RHP (right UCL surgery)
Expected return: 2025
Kowar was transferred to the 60-day IL shortly after receiving word that he would need to undergo Tommy John surgery, which ended his season before it even began. The former first-round Draft pick was among the leading candidates to win a bullpen spot before suffering the injury in his second Cactus League outing. (Last updated: March 10)
