SEATTLE -- Mariners second baseman Dee Gordon was taken out of Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Blue Jays in the top of the ninth inning after twisting his right ankle when he stumbled on the second-base bag while attempting to catch a throw from third baseman Kyle Seager.
Gordon went down on the infield dirt after Seager's throw sailed past him into right field following a fielder's-choice grounder by Justin Smoak. Gordon was given an error on the play for not being able to field what would normally have been a catchable throw.
Gordon was helped off the field and replaced by Andrew Romine. Gordon had gone 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored and is batting .288 with an American League-leading 26 stolen bases in his first season with Seattle.

"He rolled his ankle, but I haven't talked to our training staff or medical people about that yet," manager Scott Servais said postgame.
Gordon was acquired from the Marlins last winter to play center field, but has taken over Seattle's second-base duties since Robinson Cano was suspended for 80 games on May 15. Cano is eligible to return on Aug. 14.
