Vice President of Baseball Operations
Billy Gasparino is in his tenth season with the Dodgers and first as Vice President of Baseball Operations after spending five seasons as the Vice President of Amateur Scouting. Gasparino joined the Dodgers prior to the 2015 season as director of amateur scouting and has overseen successful drafts that produced the Dodgers’ young core, including 2019 All-Star Walker Buehler and 2019 Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year Gavin Lux – his top picks in his first two drafts with the club.
Previously, Gasparino worked for the Padres for four seasons as director of scouting (2012-14) and national crosschecker (2010-12). Prior to joining the Padres, he worked for the Blue Jays as an area scout covering Southern California from 2004-06 before being promoted to national crosschecker by the Blue Jays in 2007. He got his start working in the front office as an intern with the Cleveland Indians in 2003.
An infielder during his playing career, Gasparino was selected by the Rockies in the 17th round of the 1999 First-Year Player Draft from Oklahoma State University and spent one season in their minor league system with Single-A Portland.
He resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Jenna, and sons, Will and Lucca.
