WASHINGTON -- Maybe Connor Brogdon will recapture his 2022 postseason magic with the Dodgers.

The Phillies announced on Saturday that they traded Brogdon to Los Angeles for Minor League left-hander Benony Robles, who pitched last season with High-A Great Lakes. The 6-foot-4 Robles has a fastball that sits 91-94 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. He also throws a slider and a changeup.

Brogdon, 29, was designated for assignment on Tuesday after he allowed three walks and a grand slam in a 10-inning loss to the Reds at Citizens Bank Park. In two innings over three appearances this season, Brogdon allowed seven runs (six earned) off three hits (including two home runs) and six walks. He struck out three.

“I’m just kind of scrambled out there right now,” Brogdon said after Monday's struggles.

Brogdon was one of manager Rob Thomson’s best relievers in the 2022 postseason, striking out 13 and walking two in 8 2/3 innings. The right-hander struck out seven in four scoreless innings in the World Series against Houston. But his velocity has since dipped, and Brogdon had lost his effectiveness.

Robles, 23, was 4-2 with a 3.86 ERA with Great Lakes last season. He struck out 53 and walked 19 in 32 2/3 innings. He struck out 38.7% of the batters he faced. In five Minor League seasons, Robles has a 4.67 ERA, striking out 277 and walking 134 in 250 2/3 innings.
