Dodgers acquire LHP Salow from A's for Font
Pitcher assigned to Class A Great Lakes; Roberts provides updates on Turner, Forsythe
LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers acquired left-handed pitcher Logan Salow from the Oakland Athletics for right-handed pitcher Wilmer Font.
Salow, an A's sixth-round Draft pick in 2017, was 2-0 with Class A Beloit with a 1.59 ERA and eight strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings pitched this season. In 20 career Minor League games, he has gone 4-3 with two saves and has posted a 1.52 ERA. Salow was assigned to Class A Great Lakes.
The 27-year-old Font pitched 10 1/3 innings for the Dodgers this season, was 0-2, and allowed 13 earned runs.
Turner, Forsythe progressing
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said third baseman Justin Turner (left wrist fracture) is taking "dry swings," but didn't have much more of an update.
"I don't know when he's slated to take 'on-the-field' batting practice, but I know he has taken dry swings," Roberts said.
Meanwhile, Dodgers second baseman John Forsythe (right shoulder inflammation) is playing "light catch," according to Roberts, but still isn't "letting it go."
"For me, he has to be able to throw to bases and come back and throw at a high volume, and he's not there yet," Roberts said.
Forsythe said he will start a throwing program Friday. He experienced discomfort while throwing on April 23.
Roberts said when Forsythe is healthy, he expects the infielder to have a four-to-five game minimum rehab assignment.
