Ballpark Summer Pass first games and team celebrates “602 Day”

June 1st, 2024

The Arizona Diamondbacks return home for a quick three-game series against the San Francisco Giants beginning on Monday, June 3, when the team will honor an annual MLB tradition and celebrate the inspirational life of one of baseball’s greatest players, Lou Gehrig. Gehrig, who played 17 seasons with the New York Yankees, courageously battled ALS and each year on or around June 2, the day Gehrig was named the Yankees’ first baseman in 1925, baseball teams and fans across the league remember his legacy by helping raise awareness for the people and organizations who continue to battle the disease.

San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks:

Monday, June 3 @ 6:40 p.m. | Tuesday, June 4 @ 6:40 p.m. | Wednesday, June 5 @ 12:40 p.m.

On Monday, June 3, the Diamondbacks will begin their celebration of Lou Gehrig Day by recognizing doctors, families and patients from the Gregory W. Fulton ALS and Neuromuscular Disease Center, ALS Arizona and the Muscular Dystrophy Association prior to first pitch. Doug Clough, a Muscular Dystrophy Association ambassador, will read Lou Gehrig’s famous Luckiest Man speech before Gabe Tapia from ALS Arizona throws out the ceremonial first pitch.
