D-backs reinstate Steven Souza Jr. from DL, place Jarrod Dyson on DL

The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated OF Steven Souza Jr. (@SouzaJr) from the 10-day disabled list (strained right pectoral), placed OF Jarrod Dyson on the 10-day disabled list (strained right groin) and recalled RHP Silvino Bracho (@silvinobracho) from Triple-A Reno. Following last night's game, the D-backs optioned RHP Joey Krehbiel to Reno.

Souza, 29, hit .438 (7-for-16)/.500 OBP/1.250 SLG with 2 triples, 3 home runs, 6 RBI, 5 runs and 2 walks in 4 rehab games with Triple-A Reno @ Tacoma from June 29-July 3, with all 3 homers coming in the final 2 games. In 14 games for the D-backs this season, he has batted .163 (7-for-43) with 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run and 4 walks. u5:p
Souza was named the Tampa Bay Rays' Most Valuable Player by the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America in 2017 after he set career highs in most offensive categories, including games (148), runs (78), hits (125), doubles (21), triples (2), home runs (30), RBI (78), walks (84), on-base pct. (.351), slugging pct. (.459), OPS (.810) and stolen bases (16).u5:p
Souza has appeared in 413 Major League games over parts of 5 seasons with the Washington Nationals (2014), Rays (2015-17) and D-backs (2018). He is a career .233 AVG/.323 OBP/.418 SLG hitter with 54 doubles, 4 triples, 65 home runs, 170 RBI, 168 walks and 36 stolen bases. He was acquired from the Rays on February 20, along with RHP Taylor Widener from the New York Yankees, in a 3-team, 7-player trade.u5:p
Bracho, 25, has held opponents scoreless in 9 of 12 games over 5 stints for the D-backs this season, going 2-0 with a 1.84 ERA (3 ER in 14.2 IP), .160 opponent average (8-for-50) and 21 strikeouts He ranks eighth among NL relievers (min. 10 G) this season with 12.89 strikeouts per 9.0 innings. He has also held right-handed hitters to a .143 average (4-for-28) with 14 strikeouts.u5:p
In 16 games for the Aces in 2018, he is 1-1 with 5 saves, a 4.98 ERA (12 ER in 21.2 IP), .265 opponent average (22-for-83) and 32 strikeouts (13.29 strikeouts per 9.0 innings). 
Dyson, 33, suffered the injury while playing the outfield in the seventh inning of last night's game vs. St. Louis Cardinals. He is batting .189 (39-for-206)/.282 OBP/.257 SLG with 4 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 12 RBI, 27 walks and 16 stolen bases in 67 games for Arizona this season. u5:p
Krehbiel, 25, threw 3.0 scoreless innings in his first 2 career games, including 1.2 shutout frames in his Major League debut on July 2 vs. Cardinals.
