The Rangers scoreboard revealed cosmos-shattering news: Yoda is anti-wave
There are three topics you aren't supposed to talk about at the dinner table: Politics, religion and, perhaps most importantly, the wave.
There is no topic that divides sports fans more than their opinion on the wave. Some hate it because they see it as a distraction from the game. Others love it because they see it as a fan-led cheer that spreads through the stadium.
At the Rangers' Star Wars night on Saturday, something happened that could sway public opinion: Yoda came out against the wave. In Yoda's backwards grammar, the scoreboard read:
"The wave is the path to the dark side. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."
While we're not entirely sure if this is in canon or not, it's definitely something new for Star Wars fans to argue over when they're done debating the Kessel Run and who shot first.
Even better than Yoda's stance, though, may have been this shot of the soundbooth while the Rangers broadcasters discussed the wave. Like an I Spy book, here's a dour-looking Yoda in a Major League booth wearing headphones, all while one kid does the wave behind him. Hopefully this will be included in "Rogue One."
