This Yankees ball boy stuck with a tough bounce off the tarp for the defensive gem of the day

Sure, being a Major League ball boy has its perks: getting to sit on a big league field, wearing a uniform, the eternal gratitude of your bullpen. But it's also a solemn responsibility. Armed with only a glove and a batting helmet, they take their position -- the last line of defense between the baseball game and complete foul-ball anarchy.
So, when Mookie Betts rocketed a foul ball down the third-base line during Boston's 3-1 loss to the Yankees on Sunday, the New York ball boy knew he had to do whatever it took to make the play. Even after the ball kicked up off the tarp.

The catch had it all: the reflexes to make the grab, the presence of mind to follow the Golden Rule of Foul Balls -- always find an adorable young fan in your area -- and the attitude to sit back down and eat sunflower seeds like it was all in a day's work. Truly, this is a ball boy to which all others should aspire.
