Vin Scully hung out with POTUS, The Boss, MJ, Kareem and more at the White House

On Tuesday afternoon, Vin Scully was among 21 Americans to receive the country's highest civilian honor -- the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The White House ceremony was a star-studded affair full of incredible photo opportunities for Scully.
Here he is with two of the most famous basketball players in history, Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar:

But wait, who's photobombing that picture? Is that Bruce Springsteen?!
It sure is, but don't worry, Scully had the opportunity to catch up with The Boss, as well:

The President of the United States stopped by to present the awards to the recipients:

During the ceremony, Scully sat with actor Robert Redford, singer Diana Ross, and his new friend Bruce:

While introducing Scully, President Obama began, "The game of baseball has a handful of signature sounds: You hear the crack of the bat. You've got the crowd singing in the seventh-inning stretch. And you've got the voice of Vin Scully." He went on to describe the accomplishments of a man who has been so central to bringing baseball to generations of Americans.
The President mentioned that when Scully heard he was being honored he responded: "Are you sure? I'm just an old baseball announcer." But the President went on to explain a truth all baseball fans know which is: "To Americans of all ages, you are an old friend."
He also mused about wishing they could have Scully emcee the event:

In the end, Scully received his richly-deserved medal.

As Scully and the White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest discussed, "How cool is that?"
