Hunter Pence spaghetti arms a home run over Coors Field wall

Pence spaghetti arms a home run

Awkward. Gangly. Spooky-eyed. "Runs like a rotary telephone thrown into a running clothes dryer."

While that could be a description of Sam Weir from Freaks and Geeks, it also applies to the baseball freak that is Hunter Pence. Nothing he does looks quite right, from his pigeon-toed stance to his approach in the field. And yet it all works -- Pence is 8th in fWAR and 10th in home runs in the National League since the start of 2013.

Gaze in wonder as Pence once again did his thing against the Rockies on Thursday afternoon, each body part seemingly moving in opposite directions like the tentacles of Lovecraft's Cthulhu beast on this swing. And yet Pence still had the strength to power the ball over the wall.
