Listen to Tom Coughlin talk Tim Tebow and his induction to the Little League Hall of Excellence
On his 70th birthday, two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Tom Coughlin appeared on MLB Network. It's perfect timing -- after all, Tim Tebow had his workout in front of scouts on Tuesday. Coughlin said that the former quarterback is "extremely talented as an athlete," and had a recent rule change to the two-point conversion gone differently, Tebow might very well still be playing football because "many, many teams would then have gone to the running quarterback."
Coughlin, who grew up playing baseball and basketball in addition to football, was also inducted into the Little League Hall of Excellence over the weekend. It's a privileged honor, with former President George W. Bush, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Mariano Rivera among the names to be granted induction. "It really impressed me the way that in which Little League has reached out to these outstanding people -- not necessarily just baseball players -- but as young men [who] had played Little League Baseball. It was really an impressive, impressive day."
