Watch Tim Tebow deliver a bases-loaded walk-off single in the ninth
When the Scottsdale Scorpions were tied with the Mesa Solar Sox, 3-3, in Arizona Fall League action on Monday night, the Scorpions were in need of a hero. Somebody who'd navigated such pressure-filled waters before and laughed in the face of doubt.
Luckily, that man was there for the Scorpions on this cool, Arizona eve. That man was Timothy Richard Tebow:
With the bases loaded in the ninth inning, the Mets farmhand singled just inside the third-base bag to bring home the winning run. Tebow talked to MLB.com's William Boor about the moment postgame:
"Your body doesn't know the difference in stress and pressure in what [the situation is]," Tebow said. "If it's getting up and speaking in front of 20,000, if it's playing football in front of 100,000, if it's bases loaded, two outs in the bottom of the ninth, your body just knows it's stress, it's pressure, and how are you going to handle it."
Tebow was 1-for-4 on the night and now has four hits in his last five AFL games.
