Photo of the Day: Check out the Cubs' 'W' flag proudly flying in Antarctica
The Cubs Convention is taking place in Chicago this weekend, an annual event geared around celebrating everything Cubs-related (including, you know, that World Series title they just picked up).
In honor of the festivities, a trusty 'W' flag is currently flying proudly ... thousands of miles away. In Antarctica. Neko Harbor, to be precise.
The flag is planted in the continent itself, thanks to the efforts of a man named Bob Simpson, a Chicago resident who runs tours of Antarctica on behalf of Abercrombie & Kent.
In a sense, with their representative flag flying high for all to see, the Cubs now basically own Antarctica.
It's been a good year for those Cubbies.
