Nothing will warm your heart more than senior Cubs fans celebrating a World Series title
Years ago, Wayne Williams made a promise: "When -- not if, when -- the Cubs got into the World Series, we would make sure we listen to the games together."
According to WTHR in Indiana, Williams' father, a Navy veteran, passed away in 1980 at the age of 53. But with the North Siders finally making it to the Fall Classic this season, that wasn't going to stop Wayne from sharing the moment with his dad. So, before Game 7 on Wednesday night, he drove from his home in North Carolina all the way up to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, Ind. -- radio and W flag in hand -- and listened to the Cubs' thrilling win at his father's grave.
Williams wasn't the only one celebrating the Chicago's title with multiple generations. After decades of waiting, grandmothers and grandfathers finally got to watch next year become this year -- and it is scientifically guaranteed to brighten your day.
