There are few more iconic fatherly activities than spending a weekend afternoon outdoors doing work in the yard. In that context, the delay that took place Sunday afternoon at Coors Field was an oddly appropriate Father's Day celebration.
During the first inning, some pipes burst in foul territory down the first-base line and water came pouring onto the field. All the ball boy could do was watch as the water washed over him:
In a tribute to lawncare-obsessed fathers everywhere, the grounds crew made quick work of the issue and play was able to resume. Sometimes the best Father's Day celebrations are those that occur organically.
