Question of the Day: How will Yu do?
The big question, of course, is how the Japanese right-hander will fare in Major League Baseball now that he is on the staff of the two-time defending American League champions. Darvish agreed to a six-year, $60 million contract, on top of the $51.7 million posting fee paid to the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters.
Darvish is expected to help fill the void of ace left-hander C.J. Wilson, who signed with the Angels, and he's projected as a No. 3 starter when the season opens. Darvish joins a staff that includes Opening Day starter Colby Lewis, Derek Holland, Matt Harrison and converted starter Neftali Feliz. There will be a media horde everywhere the Rangers go, dominated by Japanese press, but more importantly, Darvish will have big bats behind him the whole way.
