The Griffeys' hometown officially unveiled Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. Drive

Since being inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame this summer, it's been a pretty cool time to be Ken Griffey Jr. (Well, technically every time is a pretty cool time to be Ken Griffey Jr., but go with it.)
He's hung out with Obama. He had his No. 24 retired at Safeco Field -- but not before every Mariner wore it during batting practice. Even Jay Buhner and the Space Needle have paid homage The Kid. On Sunday afternoon, though, he received an honor that hit a lot closer to home: Donora, Pa., where both Junior and his dad were born and raised, officially changed Galiffa Drive to Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. Drive.

"In your own town, it means a lot," Griffey Sr. told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review at the ceremony. "I have to come here every time, just drive right through."
Griffey Jr. couldn't make it himself, but his dad stayed to sign hundreds of autographs with fans and state and local officials - and Griffey Sr.'s wife, Valerie, even sang "God Bless America."
"It's recognizing two of our native sons who went on and became, I have to say, legends," Donora Mayor Don Pavelko said. "You can't get more of a champion."
The street lies in the city's industrial park, next to the Monongahela River. Just a few miles away, there's a monument to another Hall of Famer -- the Stan Musial Bridge, connecting Donora to the next county.
