Charlie Blackmon and the Rockies wore very short basketball shorts (and shot bricks) at Spring Training
You have to expect the unexpected at Spring Training. Players are generally more relaxed in the weeks before Opening Day than they are for the rest of the spring and summer -- such is the difference between low-stakes exhibition games and pressure-packed regular-season contests.
This means, of course, that beat reporters have to be ready for anything. Like Charlie Blackmon and the Rockies, wearing vintage 1970s and '80s-era basketball shorts, taking shots (and missing many of them), as MLB.com's Thomas Harding captured:
#Rockies OF Charlie Blackmon struck out looking his first time up after a rough shooting morning at the team's complex.

We'll let you determine if the 1970s/80s-style basketball shorts his team wore were a 3-pointer or an airball. pic.twitter.com/9c1JHlMkIs
Who cares if Blackmon's out there putting down enough bricks to build a small house? That throwback shorts look packs some serious style.
