Rajon Rondo threw a strike using a basketball -- and a windup that would make Craig Kimbrel proud
The minutes before tip-off in an NBA game are important. From the fans' perspective, it's a precious chance to make a trip to the concession stand, while the players utilize it to take some shots, work on dribbling and passing or, apparently, throw a quick bullpen session.
That's what Rajon Rondo did before the Lakers' game with the Pelicans at Staples Center on Wednesday. And we can't help but notice that Rondo's windup features something that's more than a bit reminiscent of free-agent reliever Craig Kimbrel's arm slot ...

Shout-out to JaVale McGee for catching that pitch, which in all honesty was incredibly impressive from Rondo. In fact, he nailed the whole Kimbrel impression, from the arm waggle, windup, high-velocity fastball and all.
But maybe that shouldn't really be much of a surprise? Rondo's a proven closer, after all ...
