Be amazed by the incredible, wall-climbing catch Ivan Calderon made to rob Alan Trammell in 1987

That time Calderson scaled wall to rob Trammell

Remember that commercial from a few years ago that featured faux footage of a Minor League ballgirl entering The Matrix to catch a foul ball in the left-field corner?

Of course you do. But do you remember when White Sox outfielder Ivan Calderon did that for reals to rob longtime Tigers great Alan Trammell of a home run?

On July 27, 1987, the Tigers hosted the White Sox at Tiger Stadium. In the bottom of the fourth, Trammell hammered a Scott Nielsen offering to deep left field. Calderon hopped up onto a ledge on the left-field wall and reached up over the top to pull Trammell's hit back:

Trammell would get his revenge, though, in the form of a two-run single in the eighth as the Tigers went on to win 4-1.
