The Budweiser Bleachers were one of the first major areas of improvement to Wrigley Field as part of the 1060 Project. The Bleachers were expanded and enhanced, all while maintaining the charm that has made the Friendly Confines a prime destination for generations of Cubs fans. Improvements include the addition of 300 seating positions in left- and right-field areas, new historical displays, new concession stands and beautiful, new group terraces where fans can congregate to enjoy Cubs games and other events. Fans also are enjoying the two large video boards installed in the left- and right-fields and are greeted by outfield signs including our new Nuveen sign.
Improvements to the Budweiser Bleachers also included the relocation of the Wrigley Field bullpens. The new, climate-controlled bullpens were moved under the left- and right-field bleachers during the 2016 offseason, and provide better and safer accommodations for our players and pitching staff. Fans seated in the Budweiser Bleachers can watch our players warm up through the green Plexiglas doors located on the ground level of the Budweiser Bleachers concourse.
As a continuation of the existing deck, the foul territory of the left field Budweiser Bleachers will be extended with new portables concessions and a view of the field. This extension is expected to be completed by Opening Day 2019.
