Fellowship Program

The Atlanta Braves Front Office is proud to offer namesake Fellowships to honor the legacy of Henry “Hank” Aaron and William “Bill” Bartholomay. These Fellowships are year-long rotational programs designed to give aspiring sports business professionals the chance to experience a variety of front office operations.

Henry Aaron Fellowship

Most notably recognized as the Home Run King, Hank Aaron broke the most hallowed record in sports in 1974 on his way to a career 755 home runs. As a player, he had many on-field accolades, but he also had an immense impact off-the-field as a business executive, entrepreneur, and advocate for racial equity and social justice. The Hank Aaron Fellow will play an integral part in the continuation of this legacy by helping to plan our annual Hank Aaron Week initiatives.

William Bartholomay Fellowship

Lovingly known as “Mr. B” in Braves Country, Bill Bartholomay is largely to thank for bringing the Braves to Atlanta in 1966. The move set the stage for decades of success and prosperity still felt today, a legacy that will be experienced firsthand by the selected Fellow who will gain a wealth of knowledge through their rotation among departments.

Like many companies, we realize that some members of historically underrepresented groups may not have had the same opportunities as others in professional baseball front offices. We are seeking to utilize these Fellowship programs to increase diversity in our recruitment pipeline. While both Fellowships can be sought by anyone who meets the qualifications of the programs, we especially encourage applications from members of historically underrepresented communities, including but not limited to women, Black or African American people, American Indians/Alaskan Natives, Hispanics (or Latinos), Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders.

The next recruitment cycle for these Fellowships will be in Fall 2024 for a January-December 2025 program cycle.
