Minor League team names run the gamut, but one thing you won't typically see is a reference to other sports. The exception is in Augusta, the home of the Masters. When a Braves Minor Leaguer arrives in Rome, Georgia, the big leagues are so close yet so far. Just over an hour northwest of Atlanta, AdventHealth sits at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and provides baseball to local Romans who had gone without a professional team for more than 50 years before the Braves opened up shop in 2003. Double-A: Mississippi Braves, Trustmark Park
To get closer to Atlanta, players have to travel further west first. The M-Braves, like their namesake one level below, were founded in the early 2000s and have quickly become a local staple. When you visit Trustmark you'll also encounter one of the newest mascots in Minor League Baseball: Diddly, who was "born" in 2022 and wields a bat that doubles as a rockin' guitar. Read more »

Finally! You've climbed up the Minor League ladder and the Majors can be seen on the horizon -- literally. Gwinnett and Atlanta are separated by just 18 miles as one of the most convenient MLB-Triple-A pairings in the game.
