Some Major League clubs have Minor League affiliates that span the entire length of the United States. Some, like the Atlanta system, require just a car and some free time over a few days to check off all four teams. Arguably the most recognizable sports franchise of the South, the Braves keep their farm squads local to the region and close to the organizational theme.
Single-A: Augusta GreenJackets, SRP Park
Minor League team names run the gamut, but one thing you won't typically see is a reference to other sports. The exception is in Augusta, the home of the Masters. If golf and baseball are your jams, you can't beat an early April trip to South Carolina to catch the GreenJackets before or after the green jacket is presented that fateful Sunday. Read more »
High-A: Rome Braves, AdventHealth Stadium
When a Braves Minor Leaguer arrives in Rome, Georgia, the big leagues are so close yet so far. Just over an hour northwest of Atlanta, AdventHealth sits at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and provides baseball to local Romans who had gone without a professional team for more than 50 years before the Braves opened up shop in 2003. Double-A: Mississippi Braves, Trustmark Park
To get closer to Atlanta, players have to travel further west first. The M-Braves, like their namesake one level below, were founded in the early 2000s and have quickly become a local staple. When you visit Trustmark you'll also encounter one of the newest mascots in Minor League Baseball: Diddly, who was "born" in 2022 and wields a bat that doubles as a rockin' guitar. Read more »
Triple-A: Gwinnett Stripers, Coolray Field
Finally! You've climbed up the Minor League ladder and the Majors can be seen on the horizon -- literally. Gwinnett and Atlanta are separated by just 18 miles as one of the most convenient MLB-Triple-A pairings in the game. Braves superstars of the past 10+ years have made pitstops just steps away from The Show, from Freddie Freeman to Ronald Acuña Jr., meaning you never know which player you saw at Coolray will be tearing it up down the road shortly.
