ATLANTA -- The Freddie Freeman third-base experiment is over.
The Braves' slugger was penciled in at first base for Tuesday's series opener with the Dodgers, with Matt Adams moved to left field, a position he played some while with the Cardinals. Adams, however, exited the 3-2 loss at the start of the sixth inning with dizziness, according to manager Brian Snitker.
Snitker told reporters before the game that Freeman will play first base moving forward and that he plans to use Adams in left while Matt Kemp is on the disabled list. But he also has other options with Danny Santana and Sean Rodriguez.
"We're a different team than we were a few weeks ago," Snitker said. "Ever-evolving, I guess. We've got some versatility in the guys we have here."
On Tuesday, the Braves called up highly regarded prospect Ozzie Albies, who got the start at second base, with Brandon Phillips on the bench after getting hit by a pitch on Monday. Snitker said he has talked to Phillips about playing third base because he plans to give Albies regular playing time at second.
As for Adams, Snitker said he doesn't know how he'll use him when Kemp comes off the disabled list.
"We'll deal with that when [Kemp] gets here," Snitker said. "A lot of things can transpire before then."
