Together with Truist

The Henry Louis Aaron Fund is committed to investing in HBCU baseball and softball programs around Braves Country through Homers for Hank together with Truist.

This program aims to honor Hank Aaron’s passion for education and encourage a diverse pipeline on and off the field through equipment donations and field improvements for HBCU programs. The Atlanta Braves and Truist are continuing the legacy of Mr. Aaron by making our region a better, more equitable place to live, learn and play.

Application Process

To submit your HBCU baseball or softball program for consideration, please complete the application below. The application form is open from January 1 to March 15, 2024. If approved, projects will be executed in the spring and summer months.

Recipient Criteria and Requirements:

  • The recipient must be an accredited Historically Black College or University (HBCU) with an existing varsity baseball and/or softball program
  • The recipient must be an HBCU within Braves Country (Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina)
  • The project must be completed within 12 months
  • The recipient must provide a detailed budget of the project
  • The recipient must be dedicated to the accessibility, safety and playability of baseball and/or softball
  • The requested field improvements and equipment must directly benefit the development of players and/or the accessibility, safety and playability of baseball and softball (i.e. batting cages, lighting, field equipment, etc.). Funds may not be used towards projects that do not directly relate to the edification of student athletes and the previously stated areas (i.e. improvements to restrooms, concessions, etc.)
  • Funds must not be used for ordinary operating expenses (i.e. salaries, scholarships, etc.)
