Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebrates the contributions Asian and Pacific Islanders have made to the United States and recognizes generations of impact within society.

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month began in 1977 by proclaiming the first ten days in May as “Pacific/Asian American Heritage Week”. The month of May was selected in commemoration of the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843. Since 1990, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of May as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

This Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, we will honor and support the AAPI community through empowering AAPI leaders, educational storytelling, and welcoming fandom.
