A's Provide $200,000 Donation to Support Diamond Recreational Youth Sports Throughout Nevada
OAKLAND, Calif. — The A's have provided $200,000 to more than 70 leagues across Nevada to support diamond recreational youth sports. The donations help youth teams in Nevada Little League Districts 1-4, Nevada Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Leagues, and several softball associations with field maintenance, team equipment, and more. The A's first made contributions for the leagues' 2023 Fall Ball season and made additional donations to each league ahead of the 2024 Spring season.
“We are proud to provide a donation to every youth baseball and softball league across the state of Nevada to support their greatest needs,” said A’s President Dave Kaval. “We are eager to continue engaging with the Nevada community and expand our commitment to supporting youth baseball and softball, education, and civic engagement.”
The A's presented the $200,000 check to Nevada youth baseball and softball programs during the Club’s recent Big League Weekend (March 8-9) at Las Vegas Ballpark, home of the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators. Throughout the weekend, the A's hosted youth athletes from 22 leagues at the ballpark to watch batting practice and meet members of the Green and Gold, and visited Little League Opening Day and youth baseball events across Southern Nevada to surprise and delight youth athletes.
