Special Assistant to the General Manager, Player Personnel
Kevin Goldstein enters his eighth year with the Astros and second as Special Assistant to the General Manager, Player Personnel. He joined the Astros in 2012 as Pro Scouting Coordinator and spent four years as Director, Pro Scouting before being elevated to his current role.
Goldstein serves as part of the Baseball Operations leadership group and advises and assists with all player-related matters, including both in-person and technical evaluations across the professional, amateur and international disciplines as well as consulting on all 40-man transactions including trades, free agent signings and general roster management.
In addition to his Player Personnel duties, Goldstein conducts contract negotiations, manages the club’s relationships with foreign teams in Asia and Latin America, and engages in special projects under the direction of the General Manager.
Kevin resides in DeKalb, Ill., with his partner Margaret. He is an active supporter of animal causes and owns four adopted pets with a dog and three cats.
